Revving up for 2009: Accepting ALL types of blankets!
In 2008 we set and surpassed our goal to make, buy, and/or receive 365 blankets (i.e., a blanket a day) to give to local Washington, DC charities of our choice. On our Blanketing DC with Love site, we shared our progress including photos of our blankets, patterns, and more! I'm now revving up for 2009 to give away another truckload of blankets to local DC-area charities. If you are interested in donating blankets, I will accept ALL types: handmade, purchased, and giveaways! Just contact me directly to let me know. Cut-off date: End of November 2009.

Not too bad of a start... just took stock of what I have collected to date: 30 blankets - about 10 baby and 20 fleece/handmade throws. Thank you, Cammie, Kristin, and Sue for your contributions! Keep them the blankets and donations coming!

We have collected nearly 130 blankets to date and now have a corporate sponsor -- Corley Roofing -- who generously donated a large amount for the purchase of 31 blankets from local retail stores. Plan to distribute near the Christmas holidays. If interested, let me know!
